International Homestay America (IHA)
International Homestay America (IHA) provides quality, affordable, homestay services for international students, visiting professors and teachers, interns, post-doctoral scientists, and business travelers seeking a short-term or long-term stay in the United States of America.
What is Homestay?Homestay is a wonderful opportunity for you to experience American culture and lifestyle with a pre-screened IHA homestay host in a clean home and safe community. Before you arrive in the U.S. you choose to live in a private room or shared room with another international guest.
Our international guests tell us that IHA homestay provides a better personal and cultural experience, and greater economic benefit than any other form of housing. In homestay, you have an opportunity to practice and improve your conversational English speaking skills, enjoy the comfort and security of living in a private residence, and develop long-lasting American friendships with your host. You do all of this while you pursue your educational or professional goals in America.
Who are Homestay Hosts?Your IHA homestay host may be a part of a traditional family, a couple without children, a single parent, or a single individual. IHA homestay hosts have different interests, careers, and educational backgrounds. They are screened by personal interview, background check, and home visit.
What can I expect from my Homestay Host? You can expect your IHA homestay host to be kind, show care for you, interact with you, provide guidance, and help you improve your conversational English speaking skills through practice. You are provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Your room will be furnished, have good lighting, and have an area for you to study or prepare for your business day.
